Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will undergo surgery on Sunday to remove his prostate after being diagnosed with a urinary tract infection last week.
Netanyahu’s office announced the surgery on Saturday, describing the infection as “caused by a benign enlargement of the prostate.” This surgery comes at a time when Netanyahu, 75, is leading Israel in multiple conflicts across the Middle East against Iran and its proxy terrorist groups.
Just this week, the IDF launched a series of airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen, targeting Sanaa International Airport, among other locations.
“The terrorist Houthi regime has repeatedly attacked the State of Israel and its citizens, including attacks with drones and surface-to-surface missiles on Israeli territory,” the Israeli military said in a statement on Thursday.

“The targets struck by the IDF include military infrastructure used by the Houthi terrorist regime in its military activities at both Sana’a International Airport and the Heziz and Ras Qanatab energy plants. In addition, the IDF struck military infrastructure in Yemen.” – The ports of Hodeidah, Salif, and Ras Qanatab on the western coast.

The Houthi rebels, who control most of northern Yemen, have been firing into Israel for more than a year to support Hamas terrorists in the war with the Jewish state. The Houthis attempted to impose an embargo on Israel by launching missiles and drones at cargo ships crossing the Red Sea – a major shipping lane for international trade.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu is also testifying in a corruption case against him inside Israel. The Prime Minister began giving evidence earlier in December and is expected to remain in office for several weeks.

So far, about 140 witnesses have testified at the trial, although this number is lower than the initially expected number of 300 witnesses. These witnesses include prominent figures, such as a former prime minister, former security chiefs, and media figures.
