Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar heaped praise on Nitish Kumar Reddy for his strong mental resilience and technical approach during his brilliant innings in the ongoing Boxing Day Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne.
The 21-year-old all-rounder smashed a stunning hundred to help India survive the ongoing fourth Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Speaking at the post-day three press conference in Melbourne, Washington Sundar said of Nitish Reddy: “One thing is for sure, he is mentally very strong. I mean I have known him for many years. The way he went about his business today was amazing. He made sure to choose those stages in the game where he thought he would set some boundaries.
The Indian also paid tribute to Reddy, saying: “And he made sure he was also aware that we needed to see some balls as well. When it got a little tough for us. But yeah, 100 is unbelievable. I mean, this 100 will be talked about and remembered for a very long time.” Very much so and the Boxing Day 100 Test, I think he will remember it forever too.

Sundar also pointed out that Nitish’s success did not surprise him.
