Rishabh Pant hits point to run out Mitchell Starc at the MCG


Pat Cummins lost another batting partner in Mitchell Starc, as he continued to mark the scoreboard for Australia on day four of the ongoing fourth Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne.

Mitchell Starc was run out for 5 runs off 13 balls after a brilliant piece of fielding by Rishabh Pant in the 59th over of Australia’s second innings in Melbourne. It happened when the Australian pacer played a long ball off Jasprit Bumrah and hit it behind square on the leg side for a single.

Starc tried to come back for the second round, but his batting partner, Pat Cummins, wasn’t interested. Starc had to turn back, and when the throw reached Pant, he quickly advanced in front of the stumps. Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant collected the ball and played a direct hit to get Starc out.
