Paul Walter and Colin Munro’s on-field blunder hands Josh Phillip a lifeline in the 2024-25 BBL match


Colin Munro and Paul Walter made a blunder, leaving Xavier Bartlett frustrated, in the 15th match of the 2024-25 Big Bash League (BBL 2024-25) between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers at The Gabba in Brisbane on Sunday 29 December.

The bizarre fielding error was revealed in the third over of the Sydney Sixers’ 139-run chase against the Brisbane Heat in the 2024-25 BBL encounter in Brisbane, and fans could not hide their disappointment.

Brisbane Heat’s Xavier Bartlett made a full delivery from the outside, and Josh Phillippe attempted a lofted shot straight down the ground, but completely mistimed it. Philippe went on to score a stunning fifty as well as adding two partnerships to help the Sixers beat the Heat by eight wickets in the ongoing BBL 2024-25 clash at The Gabba. The Sixers opener first put on a 54-run partnership off 33 balls with Curtis Patterson, who made 32 runs off 20 balls, for the second wicket.

He then added an unbeaten 79 with captain Moises Henriques (29*) for the third wicket to take the Sixers over the line against the Heat with 22 balls to spare in Brisbane. Paul Walter and Colin Munro’s error on the field proved costly for the Heat, as Josh Philipp remained unbeaten on 66 off 42 balls in the 2024-25 BBL match.

He smashed seven boundaries and two sixes during the match-winning win for the Sixers at The Gabba in Brisbane. Xavier Bartlett and Walter each picked up one wicket for Brisbane Heat. Earlier, Ben Dwarshuis wreaked havoc on the Heat’s batting line-up with a four-wicket haul as skipper Henriques and Todd Murphy each picked up two wickets to bowl them out for 138/9 in Brisbane.

Nathan McSweeney was the Heat’s top scorer with 34 points from 39 balls, while Jamie Pearson (24) and Walter (22) only managed to cross the 20-point mark in the match while the rest of the lineup could not even face 15 balls. Balls against the Sixers.
