Nitish Kumar Reddy credits his father for the success and silences the critics


Indian national cricket team player Nitish Kumar Reddy spoke about the sacrifice his father made to become a cricketer. He also stated that he wanted to prove wrong some people who doubted him.

Nitish Kumar Reddy made his family proud as he slammed a brilliant century for the India national cricket team in the ongoing fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The match between the two teams will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.

Nitish Kumar Reddy became the third youngest player in the history of Indian cricket to reach a century in Australian conditions. The all-rounder put in a sensational effort and made sure he saved the team out of trouble with his magical effort with the bat.

Nitish Reddy lived every boy’s dream as he batted hard in front of his family who were in the stands. His father was in tears as his son played a brilliant innings of 114 runs and helped the Indian national cricket team reduce the deficit to around 100 runs.

When I was nothing, I did not play the state game. In fact, the first person who believed in me was my father – Nitish Kumar Reddy

Nitish Reddy spoke about his father saying that his father left his job when he had nothing and it was his father who believed in him. Al-Shamil spoke about sacrifice and while speaking to reporters, he said:

“To be honest, my father spent 25 years serving in the central government. When I was nothing, I didn’t actually play the state game. So when I was nothing, my father was the first person who believed in me. He believed in me and quit his job for me.

“He quit his job to take me to the floor, to the gym, everything I wanted, he wanted to be with me. He made a lot of sacrifices. If I had to say it, time would never be enough.” But I’m so grateful to have a father like him.”

Nitish Reddy, who is India’s leading runner in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, said many people doubted him and he wanted to prove them wrong. He said he wants everyone to know that he is doing his best for India. He added:

“I never thought of such an idea. But I know some people doubted me because he is a young man playing IPL and cannot perform in such a big series. I know a lot of people have talked about it. And I just want to make them feel wrong about what they said about me.” This is what I do. I want to let people know that I am here to give my 100% for the Indian team.”
