India’s Jasprit Bumrah got rid of Australian opening batsman Sam Konstas in the second innings of the ongoing fourth Test in Melbourne. Bumrah held a special celebration after dismissing Sam Konstas, who had dominated the Indian bowling attack in the first innings with powerful batting.
Bumrah was full of venom from the start, offering no loose deliveries or freebies. Konstas struggled throughout his 20-ball innings and failed to connect with most balls, exposing his weakness against the moving ball. He would have been dismissed several times during this short stay at the crease.

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Sam Konstas for just eight runs in the seventh over of Australia’s second innings. Bumrah stuck to his observation that he could have got Konstas out a few times in the first innings. After bowling deliveries that went away and the batter hit, he unleashed a stunning knock.
The ball passed through the bat pad gap and hit the top of middle off-stump – the delivery of a bowler’s dreams. After the wicket, Bumrah celebrated with an uncharacteristic animation, waving to the MCG crowd and urging them to cheer. The right-arm pacer imitated the Konstas celebration from the first innings, which he did after Kohli’s wicket.

Jasprit Bumrah thought: ‘Yes, I’m here too’ – Mark Waugh
“What a showman,” former Australian sprinter and Fox cricket expert Kerry O’Keefe said on commentary.
“You don’t see a lot of theatrics from Jasprit Bumrah normally. But (when) Sam Konstas was dismissed, he said to himself: ‘Yes, I’m here too, don’t worry about it,'” Australian great Mark Waugh added.
Bumrah has firmly established himself as the best bowler in the world. Konstas, who was still at the beginning of his career, had no response to Bumrah’s brilliance. This wicket left Australia at 20-1 in the seventh over. Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was instrumental in maintaining a high-energy atmosphere at the stadium.
Bumrah breaks Kapil Dev’s long-standing all-time bowling record in Australia
With Konstas’ wicket in Australia’s second innings, Bumrah broke Kapil Dev’s record and became the Indian player with the highest number of wickets in a Test series in Australia. Bumrah now leads with 26 wickets, surpassing Kapil Dev’s 25 wickets from the 1991/92 series.
