Promoter Oscar De La Hoya has revealed that he is in discussions to do a Golden Boy Promotions – Matchroom Boxing 5 vs.5 event in 2025.
This will be a competition for De La Hoya to match five of his best Golden Boy fighters with Eddie Hearn’s five best available men. The two fighters will compete to prove who has the best players.

“We are continuing to have discussions and getting ready to do some big things in 2025,” Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya told Fight Hub TV about planning a 5-on-5 contest with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing next year.

De La Hoya already has one of his fighters, Floyd Schofield Jr., challenge Hearn’s fighter, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, on February 22 at a Turkish Al Sheikh event in Riyadh. Oscar is confident that Schofield will upset Shakur in that fight.
