Despite claiming that “a payday won’t change his life”, the legendary boxer admitted he felt “kind of depressed” when he missed his daily dose of adrenaline from training. “That fight was a huge climb, we were so outmatched, we were so excited,” Tyson revealed. “The battle is over, boom. Wow, I’m feeling a little depressed. We should go back to our living situation, to life. We’ve been training for nine months.” Hearing that level of honesty from a former heavyweight champion could tug at anyone’s heartstrings, especially considering how close he is to turning 60.
In addition to the post-fight story, the final stats from Tyson’s bout with social media star Jake Paul paint a vivid picture of the showdown. according to Fox Sports Jake Paul landed 78 of 278 total punches, with 31 of 179 connecting and 47 of 99 power punches hitting their mark. On the other hand, Tyson managed to land 18 of 97 total punches, including 5 of 62 jabs and 13 of 35 power punches.
