Serhiy Bohachuk says his goal is to become undisputed at 154 following his sixth-round stoppage win over Ismael Davis in a WBC title eliminator last Saturday night in Riyadh.

It may take Bohachuk some time to achieve this goal, as he will need to engage in battles with these three champions:
– Sebastian Fundora: WBC and WBO
– Bakhram Murtazaliev: IBF
– Terence Crawford: World Boxing Association
Crawford is unlikely to agree to fight Bohachuk unless he is showered with money as he looks for a mommy payday against Canelo Alvarez at 168. And he won’t want to risk his unbeaten record after the close call he made against former WBA 154-pound champion Israel. Madrimov.
Bohachuk (25-2, 24 KOs) is in position to face the winner of the Feb. 22 clash between interim WBC junior middleweight champion Virgil Ortiz Jr. and Israel Madrimov. If Virgil wins that fight, it will set up a rematch between him and Bohachuk. Turki Alashikh may need to be involved to convince Ortiz Jr. (22-0, 21 KOs) to fight Serhiy again.

“Bohachuk is a machine. This guy doesn’t stop punching. He just keeps going and keeps punching,” Teddy Atlas said on his YouTube channel, in response to Serhiy Bohachuk’s knockout win over Ismael Davis last Saturday night in Riyadh.
Bohachuk is now in the driver’s seat now. He just won the WBC title, and he deserves it. Fans will agree with me. Some of them thought he beat Virgil Ortiz. I thought it was too close. With the win over Davis, Bohachuk became the WBC mandatory for Sebastian Fundora’s belt. He is supposed to fight Errol Spence in the first half of 2025, but it remains to be seen whether or not that bout will happen. If so, Bohachuk will be ready to face the winner or clinch the WBC belt if it becomes vacant.
“This guy (Bohachuk) doesn’t throw anything wide. He’s putting pressure on, good pressure,” Atlas said. “You see flame, but when you see pure flame, you don’t see anything. You see blue. When you see another flame, you see red and orange. But when you see a real pure, intense flame, sometimes it’s just blue. Bohachuk is a blue flame. There is nothing fat.
“There’s no orange. There’s no red. That’s the distinction between a guy who throws punches and a guy who throws them the right way. His fight, the punches are thrown the right way. He has a blue flame. The fight (Bohachuk vs. Davis) was close the whole time. He dropped Davis in the round The second with a left hook that should be tied as if in handcuffs.
“It wasn’t a strong enough clinch, and (Bohachuk) got loose and threw a short left hook in, and dropped Davis with that. He kept hitting, and at the end of the sixth round, Davis’ corner did the right thing. They did the compassionate thing. They stopped the fight.”
Looking forward to the belts
“He dropped him because they were actually in a tough position. You don’t see that very often. But when you clinch, there’s an art to everything in boxing. There’s an art to the clinch.
